Our Philosophy

At Machane TBA, our guiding belief is simple: when students feel good about themselves, connected to our TBA community, and proud to be Jewish, everything else follows. Inclusion, innovation and relationship-building are at the heart of our work because students learn best when they feel safe, seen, and supported. Kehillah (community) shapes our programming inside and outside the classroom, and we prioritize knowing each child as a person before we guide them as a learner.

To bring this philosophy to life, we draw on the best of summer camp: its creativity, relevance, and joyful engagement. We know there’s a reason children often gravitate toward camp and can be hesitate about religious school, so we actively identify what makes those environments so meaningful and weave those practices into everything we do. It is not possible to have all the answers, but we are committed to listening, growing, and always asking the questions that help us create a place our students truly belong, thrive and want to be.
