TBA High Trips & Retreats

9th Grade Love, Relationship & Sexuality Retreat
Friday, Feb. 2 – Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024

$275 for registered TBAHigh 9th graders; $375 for non-registered 9th graders

9th grade can be a stressful year for students as they begin high school, explore new relationships, and start thinking about the future.

This life-changing weekend retreat focuses on issues of love, sexuality and relationships in a Jewish context and is specifically designed for our 9th graders to learn and grow in a safe environment.  The nationally recognized team of Dr. Charles Miron and Amy Miron, M.S. developed this wonderful program for teens to promote positive attitudes and clarify values to make responsible decisions.   This year’s retreat will be led by the Miron’s successor Rachel Simon, who has spent the last 15 years working alongside and being trained by them.  Rachel is a licensed Social Worker with extensive background in clinical social work, sexuality education, and gender identity

The retreat will be held at TBA.  It will begin on Friday afternoon, Feb. 2 and will run until mid-day Sunday, Feb. 4, concluding with a parent information session.  Meals will be provided throughout the retreat.

11th & 12th Grade Southern Civil Rights Journey
March 7-10, 2024
$975 for registered TBAHigh students; $1,275 for non-registered students*

Join your peers from Temple Beth Ami for the trip of a lifetime!
This journey takes teens to the South for an opportunity to experience the Civil Rights Movement at important historical places. We travel to several cities in the south, including Atlanta, Georgia and Montgomery & Selma, Alabama, meeting people who participated in the Civil Rights Movement and learning about the role many Jews played during this historic time.

An informational Zoom meeting will be held with parents prior to the trip, and a detailed itinerary will be shared.

Cost includes flights, all meals and staffing for all 4 days.

We would never want finances to be the reason that a student isn’t able to attend a trip or retreat.  Please see the scholarship application  and contact Kim Roberts with any questions.
