Sunday Hike @ Sugarloaf Mountain

Our hike at Sugarloaf Mountain on Sunday, November 12, 2023, will begin at the East View Parking Lot at 9:00. We will not be hiking to the summit. Rather, we will mostly be following the Blue trail (see map), including a view from the White Rocks summit. This hike is 5-6 miles in length and should take 4-5 hours. It is a more strenuous hike than we have done before at Sugarloaf.
The hike will depart from the East View Parking lot at Sugarloaf Mountain . Enter the park through the main Sugarloaf Mountain entrance. The winding road will take you to the East View parking lot. We will meet at the picnic tables that are between the lot and the trailhead.
There is no potable water in the park so bring enough to drink. There are porta-johns by the parking area. Given the length of this hike, we will take a few “snack breaks” along the way, so bring trail snacks and/or lunch. Sturdy closed-toe shoes are suggested as the trail is rocky, has tree roots, and is uneven. There are sections that are steep. Hiking/trekking poles are helpful, but not necessary. The temperature can be different between the East View parking lot and White Rocks so be prepared for layers. We will be exposed to wind at the top.
