SPRING CLEANING FOR A GOOD CAUSE
Drop-Offs at Temple Beth Ami Parking Lot
Sunday, May 5, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
(Rain or Shine)

  • Books: Good, clean condition books in all languages, textbooks, children’s books.
  • Furniture and Home Goods: New/clean/gently used furniture (no stains, rips, or pet hair), housewares/kitchenware/home decor, bedding, rugs, small working kitchen appliances, toys.
  • Kosher Food: Almond milk, canned salmon, crackers, olive oil, packaged nuts, quinoa, sardines, solid white tuna, vanilla, vegetarian baked beans, yeast, sponges, soaps, aluminum foil, zip lock bags.
  • Eyeglasses: Reading glasses, sunglasses, single-vision and bifocal lenses.
  • Clothing and Shoes: Clothing & shoes for all ages, linens, small furniture items that can be carried easily.
  • Personal Hygiene Products: New/gently used bras, menstrual hygiene products (individually sealed), new underwear for women and girls.
  • Sports Equipment: Gently used and new sports equipment for various sports.
  • Pet Supplies: Dry and canned dog and cat food (unopened), cat litter, cleaning supplies (bleach, Clorox wipes, liquid hand soap, and paper towels).
  • Electronic Devices: Used cell phones (wiped clean and factory reset), used tablets.
  • Paper Shredding: Paper ONLY (paper clips and staples permitted).

Organizations onsite include:

Capital Kosher Pantry: Providing kosher food to individuals and families in need.

Lions Club International (through the Lions Recycle for Sight Program): Collecting eyeglasses for children and adults to distribute to those in need.

Friends of the Library: Collecting and distributing books of all kinds to support literacy and education.

Homes Not Borders: Providing furniture, housewares, and toys to newly-arrived refugees in the local community.

Interfaith Works Clothing Center/IW Essential Needs Center: Distributing clothing, shoes, home goods, and small furniture items to people of all ages in need.

I Support the Girls: Providing bras, menstrual hygiene products, and underwear to women and girls experiencing homelessness.

Leveling the Playing Field: Donating sports equipment to programs and schools serving low-income communities, aiming to promote physical activity and sports participation.

Montgomery County Humane Society: Providing supplies to care for animals, including food, litter, and cleaning supplies, to support the welfare of animals in need.

Secure the Call: Collecting and distributing used cell phones and tablets to provide emergency communication resources to individuals in need, especially in crisis situations.

SHREDDING Truck: Providing secure paper shredding services to protect personal and sensitive information.
