Newly Planted TBA Holocaust Memorial Garden Dedication
19 Mar @ 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm
Please join Rabbi Pokras, TBA High’s 7th graders, and the congregation as we dedicate a newly planted Holocaust Memorial Garden on the front lawn of Temple Beth Ami’s campus. Volunteer gardeners from the congregation worked with the 7th graders last fall to plant over 500 daffodil bulbs in a newly created landscaping bed on the lawn facing Travilah Road. This is part of The Daffodil Project, an initiative to plant 1.5 million daffodils in memory of the 1.5 million children who perished in the Holocaust, and to continue to raise awareness of genocide prevention around the world (see www.daffoilproject.net for more details). Pictured are the students – whose 7th grade program at TBA focuses on Holocaust education – who worked by flashlight last fall to plant bulbs during a Tuesday night session.
