Erev Shavuot Service and tikkun leil Shavuot

11 Jun @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The Erev Shavuot Service sets the stage for the profound spiritual journey that Shavuot represents. This service marks the transition from solemnity to the jubilant celebration of receiving the Torah at Mount Sinai. Prayers are infused with anticipation and reverence, invoking the ancient covenant between God and the Jewish people.

Following the Erev Shavuot Service, many communities engage in the sacred tradition of Tikkun Leil Shavuot, a night-long vigil of Torah study and spiritual reflection. Tikkun, meaning “repair” and encapsulates the collective effort to deepen understanding of Torah teachings and strengthen personal connections to Jewish heritage. At TBA we do an abridged version of this with a special Torah study session that takes place after the Erev Shavuot service.
