Twinning updated September 2019

  • Through Yad Vashem in Israel.

    https://www.yadvashem.org/remembrance/bar-bat-mitzvah-twinning-program.html

From the website:  For those not planning to visit Israel in the near future you can still participate in the twinning program.
The Bar Mitzvah boy or Bat Mitzvah girl will be twinned with a child who did not have a chance to mark his or her own Bar/Bat mitzvah. He/she will receive a folder by registered mail containing the Page of Testimony of his/her “twin”, Pages of Testimony of the immediate family members as well as a study guide and a special certificate acknowledging participation in the twinning program.

The boy or girl being remembered will share something with the child celebrating – a birthday, a name or place of origin.

Cost: $180 paid online at time of twinning request and packet of information sent within 10 business days.

    No contact person

  • Through Remember Us in California.

    http://remember-us.org/

Their website has an information section for clergy, parents, students, etc.

One can request a name online and give a last name or city they are interested in being matched with or can leave that blank. You receive via email, a certificate and  the Holocaust victim’s name, parents’ names, city they were born in and city they died in if known. (No packet as with Yad Vashem.)

There is no required fee, but a $54 donation is suggested.  Can also order other items online.

Contact: Samara Hutman, Director, phone 424-272-8656
