Dear TBA Family,

It is hard to believe that 5784 is nearly upon us! The clergy, staff, and board are excited for the year ahead and look forward to a meaningful and joyful High Holy Day season. Here is everything you need to know to be prepared:

SERVICE SCHEDULE

  • Click here for this year’s High Holy Day service schedule.
  • All High Holy Day services will be at Temple Beth Ami, with the exception of S’lichot. This year, our S’lichot service on Saturday, September 9th, will be at Congregation Har Shalom on Falls Road. We look forward to a beautiful service co-led by our clergy and the clergy at Har Shalom.

TICKETS

  • All TBA members, Gan Ami families, and Machane TBA families will receive complimentary tickets to the High Holy Days. Each household will receive tickets for the adults and children under the age of 26.
  • All TBA families will receive their non-transferable tickets via email on Tuesday, September 5th. Our new electronic ticketing system works just like airline, theater, and sporting event tickets. Use your cell phone to show your QR code for scanning or, if you prefer not to use a cell phone on the holidays, you will be able to easily print your tickets in advance. Each QR/Ticket code can be used for the entire household. Complete instructions will be sent to you on September 5th with your tickets.
  • If members of your extended family would like to join us, please purchase tickets at a discounted rate through your ShulCloud account.
  • Reciprocal Tickets – Members of other Reform Jewish congregations who want to worship at TBA can fill out this form. Members of other Jewish congregations who want to worship with us can send proof of their membership in good standing, along with their complete contact information, to Alissa Miller.
  • If you know anyone else who would like to worship with us this year, please direct them to purchase tickets here.

PARKING

  • As always, we will have expanded handicapped parking as you enter our parking lot. All other parking spots on-site are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Overflow parking will be available at the GSK/Rockville Center for Vaccine Research, accessible directly across from TBA on Travilah Road. Parking passes are not required, but you are only permitted to park on floors 4, 5, and 6 – signs will be posted in the garage to remind you. You can then walk from the garage across Travilah Road to Temple. Police will be on Travilah Road to assist with crossing.
  • Please do not park in the Trader Joe’s parking lot, your vehicle will be towed.

LIVE STREAMING

  • All High Holy Day services will be live-streamed, except for the Rosh Hashanah teen service and all preschool services. Please use this link to join all live stream services.
  • To better serve our community, our live stream service experience provides a visually appealing presentation of liturgy and clergy on split screens. Prayer materials are not necessary; however if you prefer to use a machzor (High Holy Day prayerbook) while joining us by live stream, please stop by the Temple office between September 5-8 from 10-5:30 to borrow one.

YIZKOR BOOK

  • This year’s Yizkor Memorial Book to remember loved ones who have passed away will be available online only and will be shared by email prior to Yom Kippur.
  • All yahrzeits stored in your ShulCloud account will be included. Please visit your ShulCloud account to ensure our records are updated or contact Jen Smith for assistance.

Please reach out to me if you have questions about this year’s High Holy Days at dezrin@bethami.org or 301-340-6818. Thank you for your unwavering support of our congregational family.

From my family to yours, L’shana tovah u’metukah. Wishing you a sweet New Year!

Warmly,
Debbie Ezrin, Executive Director
