Tamar Lewkowitz – TBAHigh

Tamar joined the Temple Beth Ami faculty in 2016, and rejoined for the 2018-2019 school year. Tamar received her undergraduate degree in Special Education (K-12) from the College of Charleston in 2015, and is a certified Vinyasa Yoga, Yoga for Children, and Yoga for Children with Special Needs teacher. Upon graduation she spent the year in Rishon Lezion, Israel, on the Masa Israel Teaching Fellows program, teaching English to elementary aged children. Throughout that year, she volunteered weekly, co-teaching yoga at a private school for kids with autism. When Tamar returned back to the United States in 2016, she moved from her hometown in New Jersey, and accepted the K-3 Autism teaching position at the Katherine Thomas School in Rockville, Maryland. Tamar is thrilled to join the TBA community and learn from the students and staff, as well as bring her own love, traditions, and experience from Israel and school into the classroom.
