Temple Beth Ami actively supports members’ education and engagement with all things Israel – historical, cultural, spiritual, and political, including current events.
This member-led group helps to inform and educate Temple Beth Ami members about Israel in all dimensions, including political, religious, environmental, industrial, social and human-interest areas. The group sponsors guest speakers throughout the year on Israel-related topics and sponsors an online forum that is used for distribution of current Israel-related information and community activities, both in-person and online, as well as discussion of current events.

Machane TBA teaches preK-12th grade students about Israel through a series of classroom lessons and experiential programming to help students understand the links between the ancient Jewish connection to Israel and the importance of modern Israel in the contemporary Jewish world. These lessons and programs range from learning about the Torah origins of the Jewish people and Israel to the aspirations of Theodor Herzl and the founders of modern Israel to the astounding cultural and technological developments that have taken place in Israel during the past 70 years. High schoolers are exposed to nuanced discussions of contemporary Israel, and all students learn to engage with Israel on an ongoing basis, encouraging them to build an enduring connection with this special place that connects the entire Jewish world.

This organization is the communal, spiritual and social Jewish movement that acts to promote the values of the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state according to the spirit of the Declaration of Independence, enriches Jewish identity among the vast and diverse Israeli public, and merits to significantly influence religious, educational and public discourse in the State of Israel and in the entire Jewish world. Temple Beth Ami is proud to be a Sister Synagogue with the Birkat Shalom Community, a regional reform synagogue/community located at Kibbutz Gezer, about halfway between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
