Fulfillment—Spiritual Musings for Life’s Second Chapter

Life’s first chapter is concluding. We have raised our children and established our careers. It’s now time for a reset.

Where can we find meaning in our spiritual lives? How do we grow in this second chapter of life now that we are less encumbered by day-to-day professional and family obligations? We have gained wisdom through experience. What gifts can we offer the future? What hopes and fears define life’s second chapter?

Join Rabbi Jonathan Miller, Rabbi Emeritus of Birmingham, Alabama’s Temple Emanu-El as we explore the joys, challenges and opportunities to reflect upon our spiritual lives in this second chapter.

Rabbi Miller has served pulpits in Auckland, New Zealand; Los Angeles, California; and Birmingham, Alabama before he moved to Maryland to be close to his family. Rabbi Jonathan Miller is the author of two books. Legacy, a Rabbi and Community Remembers Their Loved Ones, a collection of eulogies; and Take My Dog, a Southern Detour through the Apocalypse, a novel about a rabbi in a small Southern town and a religious community untethered from reality.
