Tikkun Olam - Year Long Impact

Ongoing Tikkun Olam @ TBA Opportunities

Join TBA’s Art Club at South Lake Elementary!
Starting October 1, lend a hand every Tuesday from 3:30–5:00 pm as we guide 15 enthusiastic 3rd-5th graders through creative art projects. No prior art experience is needed—just bring your positive energy and a willingness to inspire creativity and cooperation.

Location & Instructions:

  • Address: South Lake Elementary School, 18201 Contour Rd., Gaithersburg
  • Parking: Lower parking lot
  • Check-In: Enter through the front door, check in at the office with your ID as an Art Club volunteer
  • Art Room: Head down the first hallway on the right to Room 114
  • Timing: Please arrive by 3:30 pm; the session ends at 5:00 pm

Whether you can join us for one session or all, your support makes a difference. Come as often as your schedule allows—no ongoing commitment is required.

Volunteer Opportunity: Make a Difference with Meals on Wheels

TBA has been a key partner in supporting the Jewish Social Service Agency’s (JSSA) Meals on Wheels program, and we’re reaching out for your help. Volunteers are needed to assist with daily meal deliveries, picking up meals in Rockville, MD, between 8:30 am and 9:00 am. Substitute drivers are especially needed, offering flexibility to fit your schedule.

Interested in making a meaningful impact? Contact Taylor McCarley, JSSA’s Meals on Wheels Program Coordinator, at 301-816-2612 or tmccarley@jssa.org for more information.

Calling All Teens 14 and Up! Looking to earn SSL hours? Enjoy helping younger kids?

Join us as a Volunteer Child Tutor! Assist school-aged children with homework and educational activities, and serve them snacks while their parents attend English classes with Community Reach of Montgomery County. You’ll be under the direct supervision of a childcare staff member.

Details:

  • When: Evenings, 7:00 – 9:00 PM
  • Where: Choose between two Rockville locations:
    • Lincoln Park Community Center: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 357 Frederick Ave, Rockville, MD 20850
    • Twinbrook Community Center: Mondays and Wednesdays, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway, Rockville, MD 20852

To get started, visit Cmrocks.org and complete a volunteer application. Be sure to mention that you’re from Temple Beth Ami!

Attention Medical Professionals!

  • Primary Care (nurses and medical assistants)
  • Dermatology
  • Rheumatology
  • Physical Medicine
  • Cardiology (consultation and EKG readings only)
  • Ophthalmology (primarily retinal exams)

This is a fantastic opportunity for retired healthcare professionals to continue using their skills to make a difference.
