Inclusion Committee The Inclusion Committee instills an inclusive, diverse environment for Temple Beth Ami, so that all congregants feel they belong and are valued.

Individual Accommodations

Inclusion Coordinator

Gan Ami Early Childhood Program employs an Inclusion Coordinator who provides screenings, teacher training, and parent support regarding every child’s development, learning styles and needs. She also monitors each child’s progress and collaborates with all intervention specialists.

Learning Support

Supports for persons with learning challenges (eg. break boxes, fidgets, noise­-cancelling headphones)

Part-time Inclusion Specialist

Machane TBA employs a part-time Inclusion Specialist to support all kids with and without disabilities, including training and support for teachers and madrichim. Hebrew resource teacher offers one-on-­one support

Adapted Curriculums

Differentiated instruction and adapted curriculums for individual needs (Preschool, Religious School, B’nei Mitzvah, Youth Events, Adult Education)

Social Support

Mental Health Awareness Initiative

Jewish Disability Awareness and Inclusion Month education and articles

Madrichim (teen one-on-one aides) in Religious School to foster inclusion and positive social peer interactions

Atzma’im (inclusion) counselors are assigned as needed to work with students with learning differences

Temple-Wide Accessibility

Railing and ramp to the bimah

Hearing loops, large print siddurim and visual t’filah (projected on large screens)

Paved path and handicap parking access on our campus

Quiet room available during most Temple events and services

Live streaming of most Shabbat and holiday services

Welcome Committee greets guests and members on Shabbat evening

Playground is ADA compliant
