POSTCARD-WRITING PARTY
Sunday, Oct. 9 at 9:30am
Do you want to be able to do more to help preserve and strengthen our democracy than simply vote? Grab a pastry or coffee at the Breakfast Bar and join other Machane TBA parents and TBA’s Community of Action in their postcard writing campaign to encourage voters in other states to cast their ballots! Postcards, pens & instructions will be provided! For more information and to RSVP, click here.
HARVEST AGAINST HUNGER
Through Sh’mini Atzeret (Oct. 17), TBA will collect healthy food for Manna Food Center, Montgomery County’s designated food bank. The “Harvest Against Hunger” Food Drive Campaign is one of our most important Tikkun Olam events during the year. It is critical to Manna’s ability to feed the needy. You can drop food off in the blue bins out front, order from Amazon to be delivered to TBA, or make a donation directly through Manna’s website, and they will make the purchase on your behalf!
BLOOD DRIVE
Sunday, Oct. 23 (8am-12noon)
WTBA & Brotherhood have teamed up with Inova Blood Donor Services to host a BLOOD DRIVE conveniently held at TBA. Please help reach our goal of 40 donors – sign up today!
MOMS OF MACHANE GROUP KICKOFF
Sunday, Oct 23 (9:30-11:30 am) during Machane TBA – In the Library/Lounge
If you have children in Machane TBA and are interested in exploring our community, making new friends, exploring our community with others in the same life stage, this group and event are for you! There will be food, drinks and fun people excited to make this community even stronger! Free of charge. RSVP is required.
The TBA Inclusion Committee Presents: Special Parents, Special Needs
Sun, Oct. 30, just after drop-off.
Are you a parent of a child (any age) with special needs? Would you like to socialize with other parents who just “get it?”
We all know that being a parent is the hardest job in the world. But only a select group can truly understand the lifelong love, dedication, and often isolation that comes with parenting a child with special needs. Come meet for a child-free coffee break with other parents who understand you. Nothing formal, just get to know others in the TBA community who have gone through what you are experiencing. We will talk, hang out, nosh on some goodies, and just enjoy some much-needed support and company. If you have any questions, please contact Machane mom, Jackie Renfrow.
Register for the BRISKET & KUGEL COOKOFF by Oct. 28
Is your brisket the most delectable? Do you make a delicious kugel? Interested in being a taster? Enjoy a delicious dinner of brisket, kugel, salads and desserts. Each family will received a complimentary e-cookbook after the event. Register today and enter the raffle to win prizes!
This event will take place on Sunday, November 6 from 5-7 pm. Register by October 28 to be in the contest or to come to eat!
HELP WARM THEIR SOULS AND THEIR SOLES!
The October Tikkun Olam collection is for new/gently used coats and other cold weather accessories (hats, socks, gloves, etc.). Coats and other items will benefit the Interfaith Works Clothing Center (adults) and students at South Lake ES (children’s). Collection will run from October 1-27. Drop off in the bins in the TBA lobby and Gan Ami foyer
