WTBA invites everyone for an important evening with JCADA, featuring a presentation entitled, “Power-Based Violence 101. ” Power-Based Violence 101 is an interactive presentation in which participants consider the dynamics of abusive and unhealthy relationships. Participants will learn to identify warning signs and dynamics of an abusive relationship. We’ll also cover resources available to survivors, the different ways power-based violence can manifest itself and ways to support survivors of power-based violence.
Presented by: Laura Kovach, Director of Prevention Education & Training For the past 20 years, Laura has worked in both community and higher education settings as an advocate, educator, and faculty member with the goal of ending power-based personal violence.
Veronica Quinonez, Community Education Training Program Manager Veronica has managed a state-wide grant on violence prevention initiative, worked in victim advocacy and aims to create culture change via commitment to decolonizing approaches in power-based violence.
