September 22, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Join Rabbi Mitch Malkus, JDS Head of School, as he talks to award-wining author, Marra B. Gad, about her memoir: The Color of Love: A Story of a Mixed-Race Jewish Girl.” Ms. Gad, an independent film and TV producer, will share her experiences with racial injustice since her youth, and her belief in embracing love above all else.
She will also expand upon how she chose to hep her racist, abusive estranged Great-Aunt Nette after Nette developed Alzheimer’s. The disease slowly erased Nette’s prejudices, at last allowing Marra to develop a relationship with the woman who had shunned her in her youth.
Click HERE to complete the registration form. A Zoom link will be sent the day of the event to those who register.
Sponsored by the Charles E Smith Jewish Day School and co-sponsored by Temple Beth Ami, B’nai Israel, Har Shalom and B’nai Tzedek.
