Live & Learn “Ushpizin” – Film Screening Tues, Oct. 15 (10:30 am)
August 2, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
You’re invited for “Seret” (Hebrew for movie) & Sukkah (lunch) — a free screening of the Israeli film, “Ushpizin,” followed by lunch (bring your own) in the Temple Sukkah (drinks and dessert will be provided). “Ushpizin” (means “guests” in Hebrew) is an Israeli film hailed as powerful, touching and amusing. Taking place during the holiday of Sukkot, the film focuses on a childless couple in a religious neighborhood in Jerusalem: big-hearted Moshe and his loving wife, Mali. As they’re praying for a miracle, their prayers are answered in the form of a large sum of money that lands on their doorstep. But, the great gift leads to the arrival of two uninvited ushpizin, leaving Moshe and Mali to wonder if they’ve found God’s favor OR if they’re just being tested. No charge, but bring your lunch to enjoy after the film.
