TOPIC: Israel, Jordan and the Palestinians — The Struggle for the West Bank
Temple Beth Ami’s ISRAEL MATTERS group is pleased to welcome Dr. Michael Sharnoff, who will speak on Israel and its Middle East neighbors. His presentation will highlight Israel’s relationship with Jordan and the Palestinians in an historical context from independence to present, exploring:
the key players and their strategies toward the West Bank,
perceptions of the U.S.’ role and
prospects and requirements for moving towards a political solution
Dr. Michael Sharnoff is Associate Professor at the National Defense University’s Near East South Asia enter for Strategic Studies and also a senior analyst at Wikistrat, a geo-political consultancy firm. He holds a Ph.D. in Middle East Studies from King’s College, London, and is the author of Nasser’s Peace: Egypt’s Response to the 1967 War With Israel.
