Temple Beth Ami is proud to co-sponsor the June Summer Seminar Series of the Haberman Institute of Jewish Studies, titled: Islam in the Middle East: From the Past to the Present.
Prof. Paul Liptz, a social historian and former faculty member of Tel Aviv Univeristy, will present three sessions (10 – 11 am EST) on Islam.
June 15 – Sunni Islam in Mecca: Saudi Arabia and its dominating theological position
June 22 – A Divided World: Iran’s Shiites grappling with consistency and change
June 29 – From Secularism to Religion: Politics and Sociology in the Modern State of Turkey
