Temple Beth Ami is thrilled to co-sponsor the July Summer Seminar Series presented by the Haberman Institute of Jewish Studies.
In this three-part Summer Seminar Rabbi Dr. Yosef Leibowitz will lead us on a journey of the soul as we explore the narratives in the first few chapters of Genesis together. In the first seminar, our journey begins as we consider the creation of the world. What are the possibilities and responsibilities of human beings who are created in the Divine image? Seminar two will pick up with the story of the Garden of Eden, as the first humans begin to live in the idealistic world. Why were Adam and Eve put there and were they destined to remain in the Garden forever? We move to the world more as we know it today in our final seminar, as the first humans struggle with the realities of life outside of the Garden. What did Adam and Eve pass down to the generations, and how does this story continue throughout the Biblical narrative? Join us as we consider the ethical possibilities and responsibilities as human beings created in the Divine image!
