Redesigned online program with extended Zoom instructional hours, enhanced and redeveloped curriculum and at-home grade level kits provided for each student with resources and materials.

Machane TBA B’yachad hours have been adjusted to maximize student Zoom capacity while balancing family and student needs.
This year at Machane TBA we will focus on creating strong relationships and fostering meaningful kehillah by prioritizing:
- Friendships and class groupings from last year when possible to build on existing relationships.
- A 15-20 minute block during each session specifically geared towards building relationships. This teacher facilitated time is designed to connect students together in creative ways over Zoom (i.e. interactive games, weekly chai (life) updates and more!)
- Informal enrichment opportunities to build relationships (i.e game nights, yoga or cooking classes and more!)
- Sharing family contact information on class lists so students can be in touch outside of school hours.
Ways we will get to know each other:
- Parent questionnaire
- Child personal interest questionnaire
- Offer one on one or small group teacher/student Zoom session prior to opening of school
- “Back to Machane Meetings”- Class wide teacher/parent Zoom meeting available on opening day
- Opportunity for individual parent/teacher Zoom meetings
These goals are being accomplished through:
- Piloting summer online Hebrew classes and refining best practices and benefits of online Hebrew instruction.
- Updating our materials and textbooks to ensure we are utilizing the most effective education resources.
- Establishing a new Jewish Studies approach with a focus on holidays and Torah explored in engaging new ways.
- Adapting class schedule and format to maximize class time.
- Creating web based monthly pages (starting in September) designed to supplement and complement online and in person programming and provide additional content for students not comfortable attending in person sessions.
- One on one Hebrew instruction is available
Kits may include:
- Hebrew workbooks and/or manipulatives
- Jewish Studies workbooks or packets
- Printed curricular handouts
- Fun and engaging projects
- Art materials & school supplies
- Other special additions
Teachers will have access to Temple Beth Ami Zoom accounts in order to:
- Expand instructional hours
- Create recurring weekly Zoom links and passwords by class for consistency and ease of access
- Increase support and involvement from professional staff
- Enhance safety measures and oversight
