GENERAL FUND
A fund established to support the future of the congregation. Income derived from contributions

ANNUAL APPEAL (HIGH HOLY DAYS) FUND
A fund to that takes place during the High Holy Days to support the operations of the congregation in the following fiscal year. Income derived from contributions.

NURSERY SCHOOL (TBANS) FUND
A fund used by the Nursery School to support general operation to benefit students. Income derived from contributions.

RELIGIOUS SCHOOL (Machane) FUND
A fund used by the Religious School to support general operation to benefit students. Income derived from contributions.

RABBI’S DISCRETIONARY FUND (Rabbi Gary Pokras)

A fund to be used at the discretion of the Cantor to support those in need and the needs of the congregation and the community. Income derived from contributions.

ONEG FUND
A fund to support the oneg and/or kiddush following Shabbat and holiday services. Income derived from contributions. Sponsorship: $45

TBA CARES FUND
A fund established to support the work of the Temple’s member support programs. Income derived from contributions and the operating budget.

TIKKUN OLAM (Community Service) FUND
A fund established to support the community service and social action work of the Temple. Income derived from contributions and operating budget

TRUMAH (Voluntary Dues Increase) FUND
A fund established to support the operations of the Temple through voluntarily increasing the amount of a member’s Annual Commitment to the Temple. Income derived from contributions.

YAHRZEIT FUND
A fund which, through donations in memory of loved ones, supports the caring work of Hineni. Income derived from contributions.

 

ACCESS AND SPECIAL NEEDS FUND by the SHEVITZ FAMILY
A fund established to support access and special needs to accommodate the unique needs of all who worship, learn and celebrate at Temple Beth Ami. Income derived from contributions.

ADMINISTRATIVE FUND IN MEMORY OF MARK GREENSTEIN
A fund established in memory of Mark Greenstein to support the administrative work of the Temple. Income derived from contributions.

ADULT EDUCATION FUND
A fund to support educational programming for adults. Income derived from contributions.

ANTI-ADDICTION FUND IN MEMORY OF SCOTT STERNBERG
A fund established by the Sternberg family in memory of Scott Sternberg. Contributions will be applied toward programming to raise community awareness of addiction issues and to help families struggling with this epidemic find the best options for treatment. Income derived from contributions.

CAMPERSHIP FUND
A fund established to provide scholarships for our children to attend Jewish summer camp. Income derived from contributions.

CHILDREN’S LIBRARY FUND IN MEMORY OF ETHEL CLEMENS
A fund established in loving memory of Ethel to purchase children’s materials for the library

COLLEGE FUND IN HONOR OF RABBI BRIAN ZIMMERMAN
In honor of Rabbi Brain Zimmerman, the Temple’s first Associate Rabbi, this fund is used to support programs for our college age members. Income derived from contributions and operating budget.

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT FUND
A fund established to replace computer and other office equipment. Income derived from donations and capital budget.

CRITICAL ISSUES FUND
A fund to support the work of the Critical Issues Committee in bringing programs of political and social significance to the Temple. Income derived from contributions and operating budget.

CULTURAL ARTS FUND IN HONOR OF CANTOR SUE ROEMER
A fund established in honor of Cantor Roemer’s 13th Anniversary with the congregation to enrich the Jewish cultural experiences of our congregants and the community. Income derived from contributions.

EXTERIOR BEAUTIFICATION FUND/ GOLDBERG/GOLDENHORN ROVA FUND IN MEMORY OF BETTIE LEE GOLDBERG
Exterior Beautification Fund was established by the Paul family to enhance and maintain our grounds. The initial project was the creation of outdoor worship space in the rear of the building (the “Rova”) and the sukkah.
The Goldberg/Goldenhorn Rova Fund was established in memory of Bettie Lee Goldberg to maintain, improve and enhance the Temple’s outdoor worship space, Rova. The funds were combined. Income derived from contributions.

FACULTY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND by the BYER FAMILY
A fund established by the Byer family to be used by the Religious School to provide creative and progressive Religious School faculty training programs and experiences. Income derived from contributions.

FAMILY EDUCATION AND LIFELONG LEARNING FUND
A fund established to sustain, initiate and support programs and opportunities for families and individuals to learn about and explore Judaism. Income derived from contributions.

HANUKKAH FESTIVAL CELEBRATION FUND
A fund established in loving memory of Jacob and Yetta Korth and Jack and Marilyn Stone to enrich the congregation’s celebration of Hanukkah. Income derived from contributions.

HIDDUR MITZVAH FUND TO ENHANCE THE CELEBRATION OF SHABBAT
A fund established in honor of the installations of Rabbi David Spey and Cantor Larry Eschler to enhance the celebration of Shabbat celebration in our congregation. Income derived from contributions.

HINENI FUND
A fund to underwrite the Temple’s program of support for members of the congregation at times of illness and death. Income derived from contributions.

HOLOCAUST EDUCATION FUND IN MEMORY OF OSCAR POHORYLES
A fund established in memory of Oscar Pohoryles to support programs, courses, speakers, education materials and all other appropriate means to educate and inform the members at Temple Beth Ami and in the community at large of the Holocaust. Income derived from contributions.

INCLUSION FUND
A fund established to engage and welcome all Jews and their families into our congregation. This fund will sustain and establish programs to embrace all who affiliate with our community to make them feel welcome. Income derived from contributions.

INNOVATION FUND
A fund established to encourage innovation in all areas of Temple life. This fund will support the piloting of new programs, activities, groups, and experiences and the training of congregants or staff in new, innovative ways to serve our Temple community. Income derived from contributions.

INTERFAITH FAMILIES FUND
A fund established to assure that interfaith families feel welcome in our community. Income derived from contributions.

INTERIOR DESIGN/FINE ARTS FUND
A fund to support the beautification of the Temple and the purchase of Fine Art. Income derived from contributions.

ISRAEL SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND IN MEMORY OF MARTHA WOHL
A fund to provide travel and/or study opportunities in Israel for children of Temple members and descendants of Martha Wohl who are between the ages of 12 and 17 at the time their trip to Israel begins. The amount of each scholarship award shall be at least $50, but no more than $200; awards are limited to the accumulated earnings of the Fund. Corpus must remain. Income derived from contributions.

ISRAEL TRAVEL FUND IN MEMORY OF DAVID CARIN
A fund established in loving memory of David Carin for travel in Israel. Income derived from contributions.

JNF GROVE FUND ($18 per tree)
A fund to plant trees in the Temple Beth Ami grove in Israel. Income derived from contributions.

LEGACY FUND
A fund for sustaining legacy gifts that will secure the Jewish traditions and programs of Temple Beth Ami for the future. Income derived from legacy donations (benefactor of life insurance policy, bequest in will, etc.). Board designated unless donor restriction is stipulated.

LIBRARY FUND
A fund to purchase materials for the library. Income derived from contributions and operating budget.

LIVE AND LEARN FUND IN MEMORY OF SALLY B. KERA
A fund established in memory of Sally B. Kera by her family to support the Live and Learn Adult Daytime Seminar program. Income derived from contributions.

MACHANE TBA (Religious Education) AND YOUTH PROGRAMS FUND
A fund established to sustain ongoing programs and initiate new ones for the benefit of all of our students and youth. Income derived from contributions.

MACHANE TBA (Religious Education) FUND
A fund to enrich and enhance religious education for students from kindergarten through high school. Income derived from contributions and fundraising.

MACHANE TBA (Religious Education) LIFECYCLE FUND IN MEMORY OF IRIS GOLDFINGER
A fund, established in loving memory of Iris Goldfinger, to support and enrich the Religious School’s lifecycle programs which were developed by Iris Goldfinger. Income derived from contributions

MACHANE TBA (Religious Education) RESOURCE/TUTORIAL FUND
A fund to support resource and tutoring assistance to help children with special learning needs achieve their goal of attending Machane TBA and becoming Bar/Bat Mitzvah at the Temple. Income derived from contributions.

MACHANE TBA (Religious Education) RETREAT FUND IN HONOR OF RABBI SPEY/ CONFIRMATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND
A fund established in honor of Rabbi Spey in celebration of his 7 years at Temple Beth Ami to be used to provide scholarships to students in Machane TBA who need assistance to attend retreat programs sponsored by Machane TBA. This Fund includes the CONFIRMATION TRIP SCHOLARSHIP FUND. A fund established by the confirmation class of 5770/2010 to enable all confirmation students to participate in the class trip to New York City (or any other location chosen in the future). Income derived from contributions.

MACHANE TBA (Religious Education) SCHOLARSHIP FUND IN MEMORY OF BUD LEVIN
A fund established in loving memory of Bud Levin to provide scholarships to enable all children to participate in all programs of the religious school. Income derived from contributions.

MACHANE TBA (Religious Education) TZEDEKAH FUND
A fund to support charitable programs of Machane TBA. Income derived from weekly tzedekah contributions and special programs.

MEZZUZAH FUND by the AMMERMAN FAMILY FOR THE CELEBRATION OF THE MARRIAGE OF OUR CHILDREN
A fund established to provide a mezzuzah for newly married members of the congregation or children of members of the congregation. Income derived from contributions

MUSIC EQUIPMENT FUND
A fund established to underwrite the purchase and upkeep of the Temple sound systems and instruments needed to enhance musical experiences of the Temple. Income derived from contributions

NURSERY SCHOOL DIRECTOR’S FUND
A fund established to be used at the discretion of the Nursery School Director to enhance the programs of the Nursery School. Income derived from contributions and fundraising.

NURSERY SCHOOL FUND IN MEMORY OF JUDY FELDMAN
A fund, established in loving memory of Judy Feldman, to enrich and enhance the Nursery School program. Income derived from donations.

A fund established to support the Nursery School and its programs. Income derived from contributions and fundraising.

A fund established to maintain the Nursery School garden planted in memory of Karen Greenberg’s mother. Income derived from contributions

A fund established to support the music program of the Nursery School. Income derived from contributions

NURSERY SCHOOL PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FUND IN HONOR OF KAREN GREENBERG
A fund established in honor of Karen Greenberg to enhance professional opportunities for Nursery School Teachers. Income derived from contributions.

NURSERY SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND IN MEMORY OF JOEL BLUE
A fund established in loving memory of Joel Blue to provide Nursery School scholarships. Allocation guidelines in Fund agreement.. Income derived from contribution.

PRAYERBOOK FUND ($30/prayer book; $60/Chumash)
A fund to purchase prayer books and “The Torah: A Modern Commentary” for the sanctuary, and to produce special service booklets and supplements for the High Holy Days and other holidays, festivals and special congregational services. Income derived from contributions

PRESIDENT’S DISCRETIONARY FUND
A fund to be used at the discretion of the President to covert costs incidental to the office of President. Income derived from operating budget and contributions.

PRIMARY SEDER ENDOWMENT FUND IN MEMORY OF JILL WOLLY
Established by the Wolly family in memory of Jill Wolly to enhance the primary seder program in the Religious School. Corpus must remain. Income derived from contributions.

RABBINIC ENDOWMENT FUND IN HONOR OF RABBI JACK A. LUXEMBURG
A fund established in honor of Rabbi Luxemburg’s 25th Anniversary with our Congregation. The purpose of the fund is to provide the resources to assure that the Congregation can continue to attract and retain superior rabbinic leadership. Income derived from contributions.

REFORM JUDAISM IN ISRAEL FUND
A fund established to support Reform Judaism in Israel, such as Reform Jewish congregations directly, or education of their youth, or rabbinic education, or other means focused on education of synagogue activities. The Fund shall also support informing the members of Temple Beth Ami and its surrounding community at large of the needs and challenges facing the Reform movement in Israel, it congregations, clergy, members and Israeli society at large. SCHOLAR LECTURE SERIES IN HONOR OF PHYLLIS GREENE
A fund established in honor of Phyllis Greene’s twenty-second year as Director of Education to support an annual lecture series. Income derived from contributions.

SHOFAR FUND by the ALTER FAMILY
A fund established to provide shofarim to the students who have completed the shofar class and have participated in our services exhibiting their shofar abilities. The shofarim will be presented at the time the student becomes a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Income derived from contributions.

SIGN INTERPRETERS’ FUND
A fund to provide sign interpretation as needed for services, religious school programs, special events and any other time an interpreter is required. Income derived from contributions and fundraising.

SPECIAL EDUCATION FUND IN MEMORY OF IRWIN H. ARDAM
A fund established in loving memory of Irwin H. Ardam to support Hebrew tutoring students with learning disabilities in the Religious School and with Bar/Bat Mitzvah tutoring. Income derived from contributions.

SPIRITUAL GROWTH AND LEARNING FUND
A fund established to support programs that encourage individual and communal exploration of spirituality. Income derived from contributions.

STUDENT FUND IN HONOR OF JUDY TREBY
A fund established in honor of Judy Treby upon her retirement. The fund will enhance programmatic experience for the students in the Religious School. Income derived from contributions.

STUFF-A-DUFF (A Project of Tikkun Olam) FUND
A fund established to support the Stuff-a-Duff program of the Montgomery County Department of Child Welfare. The program provides duffle bags packed with necessities for infants and children who are being removed from their homes in an emergency situation. Income derived from donations

TBA CARES FUND
A fund established to support the work of the Temple’s member support programs. Income derived from contributions and the operating budget.

TORAH ACQUISITION FUND
A fund established to acquire new Torahs for the congregation. Income derived from contributions.

TORAH FUND FOR ADULT EDUCATION
A fund to provide educational and cultural programs for adults in the congregation and the community. Fund established through the writing of the Temple’s first Torah, providing an on-going opportunity to underwrite parts of the Torah through donations. Income derived from contributions.

WISH LIST FUND
A fund established to raise funds for special programs, equipment, etc. that are needed to enhance the religious, educational and community life of TBA members. Income derived from contributions.

YOUTH FUND
A fund established to subsidize the cost to youth who attend leadership programs through NFTY (National Federation of Temple Youth), youth group conventions, UAHC camps and educational programs in Israel, and to support Temple youth programming. Income derived from contributions
