Tikkun Olam Projects for the Entire Family

  • Deliver holiday baskets to Russian immigrant families for Rosh Hashanah and Passover.
  • Shop for holiday gifts for needy children supported by Montgomery County Child Welfare Services.
  • Prepare a meal and drop it off at the Chase Shelter, a homeless shelter for men in Rockville.
  • Buy items and help stuff duffel bags with overnight clothes and toiletries for children placed into foster care on short notice.
  • Assist with Shabbat services for seniors at Bedford Court in Silver Spring or Brighton Gardens in North Bethesda.
  • Collect furniture or household items to give to A Wider Circle to help needy local families.
  • Collect food for the Manna Food Bank to help feed the hungry in Montgomery County.
  • Assist with Temple-wide collections (of food, clothing, gifts, household items, etc. to be donated to the needy) throughout the year.

Additional Tikkun Olam Projects for Families With Older Children

  • Prepare and/or serve meals at the Community-Based Women’s Shelter in Rockville.
  • Prepare and/or serve Thanksgiving dinner at NIH’s Children’s Inn.
  • Assist in renovating the home of a low-income family as part of the Rebuilding Together/Sukkot in April project.
  • Help cook or serve a festive Christmas Dinner for the homeless at the Lord’s Table at St. Martin’s Church in Gaithersburg.
